Role description
From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.

About the role
We're looking for a Partner Solutions Architect to join Fivetran + dbt Labs and own the technical relationship with our ISV partner ecosystem.
This is a global, product-facing partner role rather than a regional field role. You will be the person who decides — with our product team — what we build with our ISV partners and in what order, and the person who explains the combined dbt + Fivetran product offering to that ecosystem. The ISVs in scope span business intelligence, semantic and metrics consumption, catalog and metadata, governance, observability, activation, and the fast-growing set of AI and agent platforms building against our metadata and MCP surfaces.
Success in this role will require developing a defensible prioritization point of view, a coherent technical narrative, and a repeatable way to enable partner architects and sellers.
Internally, the role sits at the intersection of field engineering, product management, partnerships, and partner marketing. You will work with product managers across both product lines, with the partner development managers who own the commercial ISV relationships, and with regional Partner Solutions Architects who carry ISV motions into their geographies.
This is a full-time, remote-based position in California.
What you'll do
Own the prioritization of partner product priorities across the ISV ecosystem for the entire product suite, working in partnership with product management to translate ecosystem demand into a sequenced, defensible roadmap input.
build and maintain a single, current view of ISV integration state, gaps, and opportunities across the combined platform — ingestion, transformation, Fusion, the semantic layer, catalog and metadata, open table formats, and agent interfaces.
Own the capability and technical messaging of the combined dbt + Fivetran platform to the ISV ecosystem, including reference architectures, integration patterns, and the joint value narrative partners use with their own customers.
Serve as the primary technical counterpart to ISV partner solution architect teams, and partner product leaders, and run the technical cadence with our top ISV relationships.
Support and help shape workshops, webinars, hands-on labs, and partner marketing events that carry the technical narrative into the ecosystem at scale.
Equip ISV partner field teams with the demo narratives, architectures, and use cases they need to position the combined platform accurately.
Act as the structured feedback loop from the ISV ecosystem into product and engineering — surfacing integration gaps, friction points, competitive dynamics, and roadmap opportunities with evidence rather than anecdote.
Partner with regional Partner Solutions Architects and Partner Development Managers so global ISV strategy translates into regional field execution.
Build reusable collateral, playbooks, and enablement assets that let the broader partner solutions architecture team run ISV motions without you in the room.
Travel approximately 30% for partner planning sessions, technical workshops, executive meetings, and ecosystem events, including international travel.
What you'll need
5+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, partner engineering, technical product management, developer relations, or another customer-facing technical role in data and analytics.
Direct experience with ISV, technology partner, or product partnership motions — a track record of shaping what a partner built, not only how it was sold.
Demonstrated ability to influence a product roadmap you did not own: gathering requirements, building a prioritization case, and getting it accepted by product leadership.
Strong hands-on background in SQL, data modeling, and modern data platform architecture, with genuine technical credibility in front of partner engineers.
Fluency across the modern data stack — ingestion, transformation, orchestration, warehouses and lakehouses, open table formats, semantic layers, catalogs, BI, and the emerging agent and MCP layer — and the ability to explain how the pieces fit.
Excellent technical writing. A meaningful share of this role's output is documentation partners read without you present.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills for workshops, webinars, and large partner technical sessions.
Comfort operating globally, and across highly cross-functional internal environments.
Proven ability to drive outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving situations with many stakeholders and no direct authority.
What will make you stand out
Experience at or with a data ISV in BI, catalog, governance, observability, activation, or AI tooling.
Hands-on experience with dbt and with Fivetran.
Experience with partner-facing APIs, SDKs, or integration certification programs.
Experience building a partner technical community — office hours, developer advocacy, or champion programs.
Background in product management or technical product marketing alongside a field engineering career.
Familiarity with cloud marketplace motions and co-sell programs.
Experience navigating partnerships where the partner is also a competitor in part of the stack.
A track record of building credibility quickly with partner engineers, partner product managers, and internal product teams.
